If you send the NEO development team a video to be uploaded to your website in an MP4, .mov, .avi, or any file format, they may not be able to upload this directly to the website. The main reason for this is video files are incredibly heavy and will negatively impact the loading speed of your web page, or potentially the whole site. The way around this is to upload video content through a link, specifically a Vimeo link. This ensures your page will continue to load as usual, and the video will be of the same, great high-quality.
Since Vimeo is a third-party service, we are unable to publish videos on your behalf, meaning you need to upload and provide us with the links. Luckily, it’s an incredibly simple task that we will walk you through now:
How to sign up for a Vimeo account:
- Visit vimeo.com
- Select join for free.
- Sign up with either your email or Google account.
And you’re now all signed up! It’s as easy as that. Now let’s upload your first video.
How to upload a video on Vimeo:
- Navigate to the Vimeo homepage and press new in the top right-hand corner.
- Upload your file to Vimeo
- Once your video has been uploaded, ensure that it’s privacy is set to public (so everyone can view it from your website), and copy the link to send to the NEO team, who will get the video promptly uploaded to your website!
That’s it! We told you uploading a video to Vimeo was easy. If you’ve got any questions, feel free to get in touch with the neo team.
